Project Overview
This animation is a project with the intent to create an anthology series of animated shorts alongside the development of various assets that will be used in a final serialized or feature length installment.
The anthology installments will cover a variety of genres such as ethnographic or wildlife pseudo-documentaries, comedy, horror, action, or drama. This is intended to breathe life and color into the world and characters.
The anthology series will serve as writing exercises, leading into the final installment. This final installment will serve as the prelude to The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass.
I started this project within a few months of starting to learn 3D modeling and animation. As my modeling and texturing skills improved, many of the assets I made have been replaced with new iterations.
My Work
A large portion of the work involves creating new assets based on the original concept art or assets of increased resolution based on the original 3D models. The art style is intended to be consistent with that of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, a style that was simplified for the low resolution display of the Nintendo DS in its sequel, Phantom Hourglass. Additionally, I am writing a script, developing VFX (cloth, particle, and fluid simulation), and producing a soundtrack comprised of original arrangements of existing Zelda pieces for this animation.
